Eger Castle Declared a Family Friendly Museum
For a second year running, museums that focus on providing a quality experience for families were celebrated.
Dr Attila Beneda, Deputy State Secretary for Family Policy, gave the awards. Representatives of five Hungarian museums were present at the celebration on 27th September 2021 at the Royal Palace in Gödöllő, at an event that also marked the opening of the Autumn Museums Festival.
The Family-friendly Museum criteria were developed in 2019 by experts led by the Centre for Museum Education and Methodology. Family NGOs such as the "National Association of Large Families", the "Single Parent Centre", the "Three Kings, Three Queens Movement", and the "Young Family Club" suggested suitable criteria.
