Castle Bakery

The Castle’s Bakery has been renovated multiple times over the centuries; eventually, it was demolished in the 19th century. After a complete restoration, it now presents the history of Eger Castle’s food supply center to visitors.
The building functioned as a kitchen, bakery, and food storage facility between the 16th and 18th centuries. The renovated bakery aims to showcase its historical role in food supply through period-appropriate furniture, kitchen tools, and utensils.
Besides getting a glimpse of early modern baking, visitors may also have the opportunity to purchase locally made pastries when the bakery is open.
